Meeting Minutes - March 26th

Minutes:

Thanks to Susie Martin for hosting the meeting in her classroom. She again provided fruit for snacks.

Vicki Rasmussen called the meeting to order.

1. April tour to Naman`s Garden and UC Santa Cruz Botanical Garden will be rescheduled to either April 16, 2005 or May 1, 2005. Laura will contact Mrs. Naman to schedule and report back.

2. Announcements
• April 2, 2005 9am – 3pm Spring Garden Market at Emma Prusch Farm Park off 680/280 King Rod or 101 Story Rd. East. FREE
• April 17, 2007 10 am – 4 pm Native Garden Tour FREE. Attendees must pre register at www.goingnativegardentour.com
• April 23 & 24, 10 am - 4 pm Spring Wild Flower Show at Mission College. FREE
• April 29 & 30, Annual Spring Sale at San Francisco Botanical Garden, Golden Gate Park, 9th @ Lincoln, www.sfbotanicalgarden.org

3. Discussions and plans were made for the school garden project. Vicki sketched the plan with suggested plantings from the group. Arvind to finalize sketch on PowerPoint.

4. Arvind suggested that for future projects we can apply for grants from the City of San Jose. It takes 6 months to get grants so it is too late for the school planting project. We will apply for grants on the Evergreen Beautification project headed by Sally Brooks-Schulke. Arvind volunteered to work on application process.

The meeting was adjourned at 12:00 by President Vicki Rasmussen. Some of the members headed to Portola Valley to tour a Master Gardener’s Garden.
